Dear Friends and Supporters:

2008 is a pivotal year for Henry County Law Enforcement. After serving more than six terms, the current sheriff is retiring. For the first time in 26 years, Henry County citizens have the opportunity to elect a new top law enforcement officer. We can choose to remain with the old policies, procedures, and ideas developed in the early 1980s or we can vote to move forward and become the model for law enforcement across the state.

Because I want to see Henry County Law Enforcement become the best in the state, I have decided to seek the office of sheriff. I believe my experience, training, and dedication to Henry County make me the best choice for implementing the important changes needed in the sheriff’s office.

I have served in law enforcement for over 20 years. Serving first, as a Supervisor for the City of Atlanta Department of Corrections, as a Reserve Police Officer for the Henry County Police Department and for the past three years as a full time officer with Henry County. I graduated third in my class of twenty-five from the Law Enforcement Academy and have received further training in numerous other critical areas of law enforcement, particularly in jail operations, one of the most important functions of the Sheriff’s Department.

Through my employment with the City of Atlanta Jail and the Henry County Police Department, I have had the opportunity to see first hand important changes that need to be made in the Sheriff’s Department.

When elected, I will:
  • Develop a partnership with the Police Department in identifying and eliminating gangs
  • Double School Resource Officers to include Middle School coverage
  • Work to bring a much needed Juvenile Detention Center to Henry County
  • Create a Fugitive Task Force
  • Make essential training for deputies a priority
I know these changes will improve morale within the Department and foster a spirit of cooperation among law enforcement that has not been seen in Henry County in decades.

I believe the Lord has called me to this place and in my life and has prepared me for this job, but I NEED YOUR HELP! The cost of mounting a county-wide campaign is tremendously expensive. In the past, you, my church family and friends, have been very supportive because you believed in me. Kitty and I are again asking for your support, - financially, as a volunteer, and through your prayers. I hope you will prayerfully consider what you can do to help me become Henry County’s next sheriff.
